3/26/12- Leather Stamping!

I don't know about you, but I had a great time at last week's meeting! A big thank you to Mrs. Nelson, our guest project leader. It was so great to see her again :-)

Here's a few pictures from our leather stamping:

(Yes, these pictures are forged- please note that Victoria is using a pen to stamp leather ;-) I was just trying to show you how the process worked.)

Here's a few of the finished products:

And as a side note, the leather working tools, mallets, sponges, ect. all belong to the club, so if anyone feels like doing another project (perhaps for fair?) feel free to borrow them for a month or two!

3/10/12- Three Leprechaun Links

March is upon us, and St. Patty's Day is coming up quick! Anyone looking for some desserts to celebrate? Here are my top three favorite recipes that I've found, and thought I'd share:

leprechaun trap rainbow cake

1) I had never heard of a leprechuan trap cake before I visited the fantastic blog notmartha. Now I am sorely tempted to make one. Still, I don't know what I'd do with the poor little leprechuan once I've caught him...

2) St. Patty's Day cupcakes/cakeballs from bakerella. These are hands-down adorable. Enough said.

Here's the recipe!

3) Yes...I know potatoes are not typical dessert fare. But these, my dear Watson, are not typical potatoes. Take a look at this:

Now that's my kind of potato! Note: These would lend themselves well to a practical joke:-)

Here's the recipe, from the amazing blog Sprinkle Bakes

Have a happy March!
